Mr. Cagatay OSKAR stated “We have high skilled software and hardware designers to develop custom made AVRs and UPSs, answering various demands from different markets throughout the world. Being a UPS/AVR manufacturer & exporter from Mexico to Australia, France to Vietnam and other 90 countries gives us the strength and confidence in our work and leader identity in the market. Also, people trusted in me and my work while this success happened thanks to my good human relation skills, aggressive marketing strategy so called pro-active sales behaviour.”

Could you briefly tell us about yourself and your company so that our readers know you well?

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to interview for your valuable media platform such as Electricity Turkey mag to share my background here  with your  respected readers especially our experience  in the frame for  a person’s work identity  at your esteemed organization and promote  our professional reputation. I am a native french speaker graduated from Saint Benoit French high school and Istanbul Technical university.

I joined Delta team in 2009 as Export Manager, the year when l established the export department in the company. Back in the day, the Delta company didn’t have any direct export sales to any part of the World. Soon after this year, Delta has not only clinched it’s title as Leader of Turkish Voltage Regulator industry (4-5 times bigger than total Turkish AVR market) but meantime has become one of the most important and prestigious Turkish/European UPS brands with more than 80 country market presence. And now export department in Istanbul has reached 8 people. I assume that respect is earned, not given.I achieved  quiet good reputation and success globally in the power electronic sector all around the world  along the years especially outside of Turkey.I have seen considerable success with my clients who have been faced with various diseases or challenges stemming from a depletion of energy  because people trusted in me and my work while  I think this success happened thanks to my good human relation skills, aggressive marketing strategy so called proactive sales behaviour.

delta ups (Large)What are your main product groups? What kind of productions and services do you provide according to usage areas?

We mainly focused in design and production of all type of AC Voltage Stabilizers (Servo,Static and Relay type) from 1kva to 3000kVA and Uninterruptible power supplies 1-800kVA which constitute the totality of our Product portfolio. These are also the same major item ranges which we export worldwide. We offer complete solutions for Mission critical applications, power backup and Clean Power & Mains Regulation at optimum level.

What makes Delta products superior and different? What are the biggest factors for choosing Delta?

Delta is producing all major components such as Variacs, Transformers and especially boxes/cubicles inside its modern facilities. Delta is not buying all these equipments from third party suppliers but manufacturing in its own  assembly line. Thus it gives us an obvious price and delivery advantage over our competitors who try to procure these basic tools from the local market. Reasons Engineers Make Great CEOs is ust about delivering high quality  standards focused on our industrial strategy that reinforces and sustains engineering’s contributions at the end of the day.

cagatay oskar2 What should be considered in the production of these products?

Although It would have been more correct to ask this question directly  to production desk more likely. However from my sales and marketing angle, if I ´d have to evaluate this question, Then l would say….First the product quality is important, second comes the quality again and third is the Smart pricing. At Delta, we have the tradition of winning. We have the production flexibility, high speed delivery, huge stocks advantages and best pricing position and strategies. We are way ahead of our competitors in this manner. And it seems like it is going to remain this way for more years.

Could you tell us about your technical staff and R&D studies?

We have high skilled software and hardware designers to develop custom made AVRs and UPSs, answering various demands from different markets throughout the world. Being a UPS/AVR manufacturer & exporter from Mexico to Australia, France to Vietnam and other 90 countries gives us the strength and confidence in our work and leader identity in the market.

Do you have new product investments? If so, could you tell us about these products and your goals?

We are currently working on developing new IGBT based Static Voltage Stabilizer technology as we do in UPS since longtime, and we have also launched some interesting projects about Solar/Hybrid applications. We are always interested in new ideas to service the EV and Energy Industries Also project aims at evaluating large-scale solutions where electric car charging is matched with local production of solar electricity, electric vehicle charging station implementation etc

What are your sales and after sale services related to your products?

Exporting electrical devices brings problems as well. Mostly technical ones. Then you should have a strong sales after service team capable to intervene and solve whenever there is a problem, providing necessary spare parts support and more crucially; ensuring on site installation and repair work. Delta Engineers are travelling each and every week of the year. I must confess that our technical persons are travelling more frequently than our export staff..

Have you participated in an important international events or projects with your products?

Assuming that Delta is already an undisputed leader of UPS/AVR industry in our country, we prefer most likely to participate to International fairs rather than spending time with Turkish expos. Promoting our manufactured goods in International expo shows organized every year in countries like UAE,Egypt,Algeria,Vietnam,Russia,Kenya,Nigeria,South Africa,.etc is always more charming to us.

How many countries do you export? Where are your target markets?

I never counted. but the number is increasing every year. The distribution network is growing permanently. We have probably reached until now, some around 85-90 countries. Targeted markets are mostly developing regions of the World/so called 3rd World countries with insufficient electrical infrastructure, wherever there is an immense need for clean and continuous energy, Delta comes first…What would you like to say about the difficulties such as the image of the country you encounter at abroad, struggle with international brands, unfair competition, etc.

Delta is  one of the luckiest companies in the world facing weak concurrence from domestic side; but having stiff competition from International aspect. Our major competitors are mostly in Spain, Italy, France, China, India and UK. We are also producing OEM UPS, AVRs for many of these same competitors.,even in the same international projects.

Sometimes they are winning the bids against Delta; offering our manufactured products labeled with their brands on. Isn’t it an interesting side of Delta?

Turkish products recognition and the image of « Made in Turkey » is not a weak one. As Delta we are doing our best to contribute humbly to this trademark. The Turkish exporters mainly put forward the price and quality performance correlation. So we do as well. Made in China is the cheapest, Made in Italy is the most expensive one. Made in Turkey is in the middle. I think this is this the most comprehensive explanation.

Do you have any expectations from the authorized institutions and organizations in order to overcome the difficulties encountered in the field of export?

I personally don’t have any expectations from any party. But as a responsible Turkish patriot and law abiding taxpayer citizen need to put trust in the state protecting their basic rights and justice for all principle, the rule of law must be obeyed.  My personal feeling and  is that long as we won’t invest in education and can’t solve the huge problems in our national education system based on equal opportunity and secular education furthermore companies like ours will  severely suffer the most because lack of qualified human source in business and industry allows to compete foreigners.
