R & M Cabling Company took part in Istanbul Airport Project with a special team and a special product

In our back office, we have assigned a friend with a coordination of logistics, finance and technical aspects. Our goal is to get a responsible person for R & M (Reichle & De-Massari AG) and the questions are answered as soon as possible. In addition, we have assigned an engineer friend for field work. We had three meetings a week. As a result, we established a special unit both in our head office and in the field to carry out our work. After receiving the project, we updated our products in Switzerland for some tests according to our customer’s request. Re-drawings were made, prototypes were produced and applied in the field. As a result of the satisfaction, we have seen that these studies have become widespread in other countries as a solution proposal. We talked with Mr. Suleyman Tokmak, R & M Turkey Manager, who made statements above about the Turkey structuring and success in Istanbul airport.

Could you please provide information about R & M and your services?

R & M is one of the first three players in the world to operate in the field of structured cabling. As this is her main job, she is not interested in other jobs and is focused on being the best in this field. Structural wiring (office wiring) is the easiest job for us in vertical look. R & M builds broad data paths with copper and fiber optic cables to meet the demand for bandwidth. Investments in data transfer systems in airports, hospitals, finance sector, shopping malls, hotels, logistics sector and transportation have a great importance.

We have specific solutions for different sectors. The industry, hospital and automotive sectors are the leading ones. At the head of the industrial solutions, you can also install special modules (both fiber and copper) that can be installed on the DIN rail in the electrical enclosures of the special connectors, IP 20 to IP 67. The most important solutions we offer for hospitals are the antibacterial products that distinguish the current from the special devices attached to the patients. In short, R & M is a brand that can offer end-to-end solutions.

At which stage do you position yourself as a company in Turkey??

We started our activities in Turkey with a person in the beginning -contact person- and now we serve without technical team (Technical-Sales-Management) for three persons. Turkey is a very important market for us. In addition to the young population, there are plenty of opportunities, but a pure, tight and aggressive market. In accordance with the conditions here, we increase our investment and work capacity.

What is the awareness and privilege R & M provided in Turkey? Can you evaluate?

As I mentioned earlier, we have 7 regions in Zurich, Switzerland. Eastern Europe, Western Europe. We are connected to Dubai as Turkey. We have a back office there. We have technical friends here and there. Whenever technical support is needed from Switzerland or Dubai, our friends always solve the problem as soon as possible. Our local friends here provide technical support in the field. however, we receive our support from the larger project design stage.

How do you manage the implementation phase of these jobs??

We have partners in Turkey during the implementation phase. Besides, we have an academy providing education. We call it the QPP. We provide training to our partners as well as providing training for our customers. We give way for our partners to have internationally recognized certificates in order to be able to use our products, provide a 25-year performance guarantee or a lifetime warranty on these products. Our partners, who have received this certificate from us, can do this in Dubai in Switzerland and in Germany.

What are your short and long term goals in Turkey?

Turkey is especially important for us in terms of logistics. We have production centers in different countries. In the short term, we would like to continue to be present in these countries (Bulgaria, Poland, Switzerland, etc.). Turkey is one of the countries that we want to invest in the long term and maybe produce. We want to make permanent works in every sense – in terms of investment, production and value added to the country.

Can you tell us how the process of proving yourself from a technical point of view in such an important project??

In this study, the IT team gave priority to find competitively high-performing firms. They gave us our consent to participate in this competition. We organized many meetings until the presentation phase and the tender process. In the end, we had the tender in consequence of our efforts. Because we were sure of ourselves and our work.
