The Singapore event is an extension of Schneider Electric’s Paris Innovation Summit, which was held from March 31 to April 2.

“Asia Pacific remains an exciting region for Schneider Electric,” said Tommy Leong, East Asia and Japan Zone President, Schneider Electric. “What we want to do is to develop and provide connected

technologies and solutions to help the region manage its energy and processes in ways that are safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable for our customers, and this summit provides a platform for the company to better engage our customers, and empower them to stay ahead of the innovation curve.”

The highlight of the Singapore Innovation Summit was Schneider Electric’s CEO and Chairman Jean-Pascal Tricoire’s opening keynote, explaining the company’s Innovation at Every Level promise – to redefine power and automation for a new world of energy which is more electric, decarbonised, decentralised and digitised, and ensure Life Is Oneverywhere, for everyone and at every moment.

Cort Isernhagen, MD, Lux Research – Asia Pacific, said: “Operational technology (OT) is
going through a major revolution, the Internet of Things (IoT) being one of the key drivers. Innovation by technology providers such as Schneider Electric is driving the much needed transformation at the intersection of IT and OT. In the end, we believe end-users will realise greater scales of operational efficiency – a direct outcome of the new worlds of energy and automation.”

The priority areas include smart grid and transportation. We would like to bring the devices and sensors shown by Schneider Electric at the Life Is On Innovation Summit to Vietnam and apply it to applications locally. Especially the cloud systems.”

Schneider Electric also unveiled its Light It Up programme to bring access to electricity
to rural communities across the Asia Pacific region. From mid-September to early November this year, Schneider Electric employees will distribute more than 1,800 Mobiya solar lamps to rural communities in 12 countries across the region.
