Continuous Energy Uninterrupted Life in the Field of Power Electronics Solutions from DELTA UPS
We have highly skilled software and hardware engineers to produce project-based custom-made AVRs and UPS, which respond quickly to requests from different markets around the world. Being a manufacturer & exporter of UPS/AVR exporting from Mexico to Australia, France to Vietnam and 90 other countries gives strength and confidence to our business and leading identity in the market. In addition to the strong communication skills we have established with our customers, our aggressive marketing strategies, called proactive sales behavior, serve as a locomotive in our success." we talked about the company's work and goals with Çağatay ÖSKAR, Export Director of Delta UPS. Could you briefly tell us about yourself and your company so that our readers can get to know you better? I would like to thank you for the opportunity to interview me and especially our company on a valuable and respected media platform such as Electricity Turkey Magazine. I graduated from Saint Benoit French High School and Istanbul Technical University, where my native language is French. I joined the Delta team in 2009 as an export manager. In the same period, we established the export department of our company. Today, the number of people working in our export department has increased to eight. Shortly after these formations, Delta UPS not only received the title of the leader of the Turkish Voltage Regulator industry (4-5 times larger than the total Turkey AVR market), meanwhile we became one of the most important and prestigious Turkish/European UPS brands available in more than 80 country markets. I can say that this reputation is a well-deserved gain. Over the years, we have achieved great success and reputation globally in the power electronics sector, especially in the world except Turkey. Faced with adversity or difficulties caused by power outages, the trust our customers have in us and our business has played an important role in our success. In addition, in this success; In addition to the strong communication skills we have established with our customers, I think that our aggressive marketing strategies, called proactive sales behavior, are also effective.
What are your main product groups? What kind of production and service do you provide according to the areas of use? We mainly produce all kinds of AC Voltage Stabilizers (Servo, Static and Relay type) from 1kva to 3000kVA and 1-800 kVA uninterruptible power supplies that make up the whole of our product portfolio. These are also our main product groups that we export worldwide. We offer optimally complete solutions for mission-critical applications, redundant power and clean power grid. What makes Delta products superior and different? Delta; Transformers, UPS, Varyaks (a kind of transformer that adjusts voltage) and especially in the field of Power electronics solutions produce all the main components in their modern facilities. Delta doesn't buy this equipment from a third supplier, it produces it on its own assembly line. Being a manufacturer provides a significant price and marketing advantage compared to our competitors in both domestic and foreign markets. The contributions of our company's technical team strengthen and support our sales and marketing. In addition, focusing on our industrial strategy, offering our customers products with high quality standards on a project basis is one of the important factors that make us different.
What should be considered in the production of these products? Although it is more accurate to ask this question directly to the production table, from my point of view we can say the following: Product quality is important first, and smart pricing is important second. As Delta, we are a company with a tradition of winning. I can say that this tradition will continue in this field in the coming years. Can you tell us about your technical team and R&D studies? We have highly skilled software and hardware engineers to develop custom-made-to-order AVRs and UPS, who quickly respond to requests from different markets around the world. Being a manufacturer & exporter of UPS/AVR exporting from Mexico to Australia, France to Vietnam and 90 other countries gives strength and confidence to our business and leading identity in the market. Do you have any new product investments? If so, can you tell us about these products and your goals? We are currently working on a new IGBT project based on Static Voltage Stabilizer Technology, as we have been doing for a long time at UPS. We have also launched some new projects related to Solar/Hybrid applications. We are constantly interested in new ideas to serve the Home and Energy Industries. We also have innovative studies on the feasibility of projects such as solar energy production, electric vehicle charging station applications, etc.
What are your sales and after-sales services related to your products? The export of electric vehicles also brings with it some problems. These are mostly technical issues. Therefore, in case of any problem, it is necessary to make an important sale by providing the necessary spare parts and service support (more importantly, after having a service team that can intervene and solve the problem by guaranteeing the construction site installation and repair works). Delta engineers travel every week of the year. I have to admit that our technical team travels more often than our export team. This is an indication that we stand behind our products and services and the importance we attach to customer satisfaction. Have you taken part in international events or projects with your products? Assuming that we are already the undisputed leader in the UPS/AVR industry in our own country, we prefer to take part in international exhibitions abroad. We promote our finished products in fairs organized every year in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Algeria, Vietnam, Russia, Kenya, Nigeria, South America and similar countries. Organizations held in such countries are always more attractive to us.
How many countries do you export to? Where are your target markets? I didn't count it at all, but the number is growing every year, the distribution network is constantly growing. We have reached around 90 countries so far. The targeted markets are mostly the regions of the world that are trying to develop, also called the 3rd world country with insufficient electricity infrastructure. Wherever clean and continuous energy is largely needed, Delta comes first. What would you like to say if you had to talk about the difficulties you faced abroad, such as the image of the country, the struggle with international brands, unfair competition, etc.? Delta is one of the luckiest companies in the world in terms of facing poor competition locally. But it is also in a tight competition internationally. Our biggest competitors are mostly located in Spain, Italy, France, China, India and the UK. Even in the same international projects, we produce OEM UPS, AVRs for many of the same competitors. There are even times when they can win the tenders against Delta by printing their own brands on the products we produce for them. Isn't that one of the interesting aspects of Delta? The recognition of Turkish goods and the image of Turkish goods is not something to be taken lightly. At Delta, we are humbly doing our best to contribute to this brand. Turkish exporters mainly emphasize the relationship between price and quality performance. That's what we do. Chinese goods are the cheapest. Italian goods are the most expensive. Turkish goods are in the middle. I think that's the most comprehensive explanation. Do you have any expectations from the authorized institutions and organizations in order to overcome the difficulties encountered in the field of export? Personally, I have no expectations from any side. As a law-abiding taxpayer and a responsible Turkish patriot, companies like ours will suffer the most as the lack of qualified human resources in business and industry allows competition with foreigners.
