- Collaboration to provide customers with unified smart EV charging and energy storage solution
- Scalable and modular design suitable for a wide range of applications in public housing, commercial buildings, shopping malls, universities, stadiums and airports
- EV charging capability that saves expensive energy tariff periods and protects from grid peaks
- Solar consumption optimization to make greater use of renewable energy to power EVs

Power management leader Eaton and Green Motion, a 10-year pioneer in electric vehicle charging stations, have joined forces to enable EV chargers to integrate seamlessly into commercial buildings, residences and shopping malls. The adoption of the EV significantly increases the demand for energy that challenges grids, with EV sales reaching 10 million globally by 2025, according to Bloom25 NEF. Indeed, only six EVs charging at the same time at peak time can lead to voltage drop if EV charging is not properly managed.
That is why it is an urgent need to put in place the right EV charging infrastructure to ensure that EV users can reliably charge their vehicles when they need it, while ensuring the stability of the local grid in the building and neighborhood.
Combined smart EV charging and energy storage solution that gives building owners access to the power capacity needed to build the EV charging infrastructure they want
Connected to the grid or renewable energy sources such as solar panels, the combined smart EV charging and energy storage solution provides building owners with the power capacity needed to install the EV charger they want. They can seamlessly integrate EV chargers while ensuring grid stability for their buildings. They can save on electricity bills by charging when there is renewable energy or when the energy is cheaper, they use stored energy when demand and costs are high. If the building has solar technology, EV users can use more than locally generated solar energy to power their EVs using clean energy stored at night.
The energy storage system also provides an excellent backup solution, ideal at a time when power grids are under enormous load. Building owners can also generate additional revenues by selling stored energy back to the grid when demand and costs are high.
Craig McDonnell, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Power Quality and Electronics and Emerging Markets Division at Eaton, Eaton EMEA; "With the number of Electric Vehicles on the rise, there is a critical need to have the right EV charging infrastructure and the right power capacity to support it.
