Borsan TOGO production facility was established on an area of 3 thousand 500m²

Borsan, one of the leading groups of our country in the cable and lighting sector, which is among the top 500 industrial enterprises and exporters of Turkey, is establishing a factory to operate in the Electricity, LED Lighting and Cable sectors in Lome, the capital of the Republic of Togo, which is located on the west coast of Africa and has one of its important ports. BorsanTOGO, which started operations in 2021 for this purpose, is powered by Borsan's 38 years of R&D, production and international trade knowledge. Established on a closed area of 3500m², BorsanTOGO will have a management organization where Borsan's West Africa sales activities will be directly managed with its advanced infrastructure and modern production facilities.

Stating that Borsan, which exports to 26 African countries, is the market leader in more than 10 countries in the African continent with its quality and reliable products, Adnan Olmez, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Borsan, said, "Borsan's vision is to become a multinational company and a world brand in the cable, electrical and led lighting sectors with our employees with international business culture. BorsanTOGO, our global strategic investment move, will add momentum to Turkey's soft power and economic presence in the African continent; export-oriented employment will contribute to our global competitiveness by minimizing production and supply costs. In our overseas investments, in principle, we prefer local partners with long-standing commercial relations. Our group has investments in Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Italy and Ghana in Africa. Thanks to its geographical and cultural proximity, the Republic of Togo is engaged in economic and intellectual rights-based cooperation between neighboring countries. BorsanTOGO, which will increase our contributions to the Turkish economy through exports, will also bring significant contributions and competencies to the Republic of Togo, the reliable and hardworking country of Africa, which is in a structural and sustainable economic transformation. Borsan will continue to be one of the leading brands of Turkey and Africa, which grows confidently in the company of international scale and strategic investment moves for the continuation of its competitiveness that makes a difference with its quality in the sector, the continuity of its presence in existing markets and the continuation of brand awareness, and carries it proudly into the future."

Adnan Ölmez: "It is necessary to discover Africa"

Stating that the African market has a great importance, Borsan Chairman Adnan Olmez continued his words as follows: "The rich underground resources of the African continent have not been reflected to their real owners due to colonialism from past to present. Turkey, whose position in the world is getting stronger, has been able to discover this giant market in the last 10 years, but especially our industry and service sectors have not fully grasped the potential of this market."

Stating that Borsan Group started its search in the African market in 2008, Adnan Ölmez said, "We started to develop our trade first with North Africa, then with Inner and West Africa. In these countries, we have established dialogues with the major players of the market related to our sector. We have made many visits and invited them to Turkey. We had many promotional activities. We participated in fairs. We invested in our brand awareness, we explained ourselves. At the point reached today, we export to 26 African countries. We are the real market leader in most of these countries. As a result, Borsan takes its place on the shelves as the best quality and reliable products in those markets. We saw West Africa as the most advantageous region of the African market for Turkey. West African countries such as Togo, Benin, Ghana, Ivory, Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Guinea love us and welcome our investments due to the warm relations established by our government in recent years. Therefore, we have been directing our energy to West African countries in recent years."

Adnan Olmez, who also serves as the Honorary Consulate of the Ivory Coast in Samsun, continued his words as follows: "Borsan has a rich product variety. We do not allow the Pandemic, which has affected the whole world, and the volatility in exchange rates to divert us from our goals. Especially in exports, we aim for better each year than the previous one. We believe that this is the move that the country needs, as well as ours. I call on everyone who has the infrastructure to export. As I have stated many times before, let's care more about the African market and go more. Let's also be brave. It will be seen that the French or the British who were influential in Africa were no more capable than us.
