The Future of Istanbul Was Discussed at the Transist 2018 Transportation Fair
OTIS: "In Istanbul's new metro We
can build the world's most advanced digital infrastructure system like in New York and Shanghai"
At Turkey's largest transportation event TRANSIST 2018, future-oriented projects created excitement. OTIS, the world leader in the sector, which is twice the size of its closest competitor, announced that it can install the world's most advanced digital infrastructure system in the Istanbul metro, which it has implemented in New York and Shanghai. "TRANSIST Istanbul Transportation Congress and Fair", organized under the leadership of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, was realized with wide participation, effective solution proposals and presentations for the future. OTIS, the world leader in its sector, announced that it is ready to contribute to the Istanbul transportation system with the latest technologies, especially in new metro projects, at the fair it participated for the first time.

OTIS Turkey General Manager Özgür Aren said, "TRANSIST 2018 has created a strong synergy by bringing together brands, professionals, mayors and investors on an international scale. As OTIS, we are very pleased to be a part of TRANSIST 2018, whose topics are discussed under the title of "4C" (Cost, Capacity, Congestion, Connection)." Özgür Aren said, "We have taken responsibility for two lines in the Istanbul metro network so far. We are collaborating very successfully with the public authority. In the new metro projects to be developed in the future, we are ready to bring the world's most advanced technology called
OTIS ONE ." Özgür Aren continued as follows: "We have developed a solution called OTIS ONE for the malfunctions that are still experienced in the subways and that the citizens rightly complain about from time to time. We are currently using it in New York and Shanghai. When OTIS starts to implement this technology in Turkey, these problems will be minimized. We are ready to establish the infrastructure for this in Turkey. The goal for the Istanbul metro is to keep the systems 98-99 percent usable. We know very well that this system of OTIS excites those who plan the Istanbul Metro. As OTIS, we can lead the way in this regard."
LENNON's presentation was watched with interest OTIS Elevator Co.,Ltd. Director of Global Projects Paschal F. Lennon explained the details of the "OTIS ONE" system in the session titled "Key Element for Integrated Transport Network and Urban Mobility: Transfer Center". Lennon's Rector of Istanbul Technical University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca's presentation in the session was watched with interest. Lennon, who conveyed the way OTIS works, the innovations it brings, and where OTIS is going in this digital age and in the future, said in summary:

"Systems including escalators and elevators are seen as mechanical systems. In fact, they are part of an electronic system, communicating with each other. They have a life story. Failure numbers, performance, frequencies... Therefore, if the manufacturer can read them correctly, the service or company can provide the appropriate service. Thus, the system is installed correctly. Instead, complaints begin when you just dust it off. Our goal is to see the really big picture. Signature Service is a service model that we have recently developed... We have created such a concept based on the data we have collected and the experience we have gained for about 30 years. In 1985, we implemented the remote elevator monitoring system under the name of 'REM - Remote Elevator Monitoring'. This is an incredible journey for us. Now, at the end of this process, smart products work with a platform called OTIS ONE, where data is uploaded. It's revolutionary. OTIS ONE is our internet of things platform... We are able to use the collected data very effectively and intervene immediately. We have the opportunity to sense in advance before there is a problem in the elevator or escalator. This allows us to develop a project-specific maintenance package for preventive measures. So the system doesn't malfunction or when it does, we can be ready for anything."
