KADıR HAS UNIVERSITY HAS BEEN INCLUDED IN THE EU ENERGY PROJECT "S-PARCS"
Kadir Has University, which has taken great steps towards becoming a research university, has been included in the consortium of the "S-PARCS: Developing and Testing New Models for Sustainable Energy Cooperation and Services in Industrial Parks" project, in which the world's leading universities and institutions are involved. In the
"S-PARCS Project", which was created to develop sustainable energy systems in the energy transformation of countries, it is aimed to train, persuade and encourage OIZs and SMEs in order to ensure that energy is used more efficiently, effectively and in a nature-friendly way. Assoc. Prof. from
Energy and Sustainable Development Application and Research Center Dr. Under the coordination of Gökhan Kirkil, the Director
of the Center, Prof. Dr. Volkan Ediger, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yücekaya and
Dr. The project team, which included Faculty Member Emre Çelebi, was involved in the S-PARCS project with a total budget of
1 million 997 thousand 325 Euros. The project includes 5 research institutes, 1 engineering company and 1 industry association together with CESD. In the project, where the best practices to be selected among the industrial parks in the UK, Sweden, Turkey, Russia, Italy, Portugal, Austria and Norway will be used as examples, the consortium members will produce common energy solutions in the industrial park for OIZs and SMEs in their countries.
"S-PARCS PROJECT WILL PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY TO USE MORE EFFICIENT AND CHEAP ENERGY" Kadir Has University Energy and Sustainable Development Application and Research Center Director Prof. Dr. Volkan Ediger said, "The aim of the project is to investigate how they achieve this by selecting a few examples of the most reasonable, logical and efficient approaches that produce solutions to the energy problem in industrial parks around the world. Then, these applications will be brought together to work on the possibilities of using more efficient, healthier and environmentally friendly energy sources as well as cheaper energy sources. Many countries on the subject have applied for H2020 support with different projects. As a result of a long evaluation process lasting 6 months, we were accepted to the project consortium as Kadir Has University. It is very important for us to be accepted to the project, but it will be more important for our country that the project brings an innovative perspective and that energy use is looked at from the perspective of sustainability."
