Sigma Elektrik, Turkey's leading manufacturer of Low Voltage Protection, Measurement and Control Equipment, participated in the Middle East Energy 2020 Fair held in Dubai. The largest exhibition of the Middle East region, which brings together the renewable energy and electricity sector, opened its doors for the 45th time this year.

Sigma Elektrik, Turkey's leading manufacturer of Low Voltage Protection, Measurement and Control Equipment, took its place at the Middle East Energy 2020 Fair, one of the most important fairs in the Middle East and held between 03-05 March 2020 this year. The 45th edition was held at the Dubai World Trade Center in the United Arab Emirates. Middle East Energy 2020 is the largest exhibition covering the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in the region, including the renewable energy sector and the lighting industry. Middle East Energy 2020 brought together 1100 companies from 130 countries operating locally, regionally and internationally in the energy sector in the shadow of Covid 19.

Murat Akgül, the General Manager of the company, who expressed his opinions about the fair participation on behalf of Sigma Elektrik, made his evaluation as follows. "We are very disappointed that we are very pleased with the density of exhibitors and visitors we attend every year and that we have experienced an exhibition organization where almost no potential customers come except for our existing customers because the fair is so lackluster. It was appropriate to postpone many international fairs to a later date due to the danger of covid-19, in fact, it would have been very good to postpone this fair because the low number of visitors victimized us like many companies."

Stating that Sigma Electric has been among the markets in which it has been strongly involved in the Middle East region for many years, Sigma Electricity Export Director Genco Uysal stated that they participated in the Middle East Energy fair again this year and said, "As every year, we have made great preparations and fully participated in the Middle East Energy Fair held in Dubai this year.

It was a weak fair in the shadow of Covid 19

Until the beginning of 2020, there were great expectations that this fair would be successful. In support of this, it was predicted that the Expo 2020 to be held in Dubai would make a great contribution and that the high number of visitors reached last year would be higher this year. However, contrary to expectations, many prestigious fairs in Germany were canceled due to the coronavirus (although there were not many cases in the UAE), while Informa Dubai Middle East Energy did not cancel the fair and therefore the number of visitors that fell victimized the exhibitors.

Unlike last year, this year's fair retained a presence of almost 1 in 5, while our visitors were our already working customers such as Yemen, Pakistan, Oman and Afghanistan. The reason for our participation in this fair was to get in touch with new people from the African continent, the Middle East region, markets such as Saudi Arabia and Jordan. However, the fact that the organizer did not show concrete steps to the visitors to relieve the uneasiness caused by the Covid 19 virus caused disappointment in the participating companies."
