TURKEY’S RENEWABLE ENERGY MOVE

Kerem Alkin, President of Renewable Energy Research Association, said that Turkey will clinch its position as the moves to be made in the dimension of information power, energy power and defense power. He notes that as the current account deficit with renewable energy production is closing, Turkey will be a rising star in the world with its ability to be a self-sufficient country in energy.

Proving their success on strategy and energy supply security,in the field of energy, renewable energy, nuclear energy and hydrocarbon energy based on the ability in the field of technology of producing its own enriched, diversified projects, Turkey clinched its position as a new power center of the new axis.

“TO BE A RISING STAR IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE A SELF-SUFFICIENT COUNTRY IN ENERGY”

Emphasizing that a country’s claim in the world economy-politics is directly related to the successful construction of a ‘fully independent national economy’ and making it ‘sustainable’, Kerem Alkin said, “The whole of the countries that are the center of the world’s economy, diplomacy, technology, production and global trade power have never neglected the two areas that are the basis of their success in this area: the first is the ability to be a self-sufficient country in energy, and the second is the ability to be a self-sufficient country in defense and national security. The projections for 2030, realized by many international institutions, show that only one European country will remain in the top 10 ranking for the world’s leading countries. It points out that from the geography of developing countries, 3 countries in Asia, 2 in Eurasia, and one in Africa and Latin America will be among the top 10 leading economies of the world. The pillars of this change in the global power ranking will be shaped and reinforced by the feature of being a ‘self-sufficient country’ in the fields of information, energy and defense.”

Kerem AlkinTurkey, which unites the Asian and European continents, has a very important geopolitical place all over the world. Turkey, which is also the gateway to international trade to the world, also continues its rise in the global system with underground and above-ground renewable energy sources.

FULLY INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ECONOMY IS STRENGTHEN WITH RENEWABLE ENERGY

Turkey, which has further expanded the concept of a fully independent national economy with the discovery of 20 billion cubic meters of reserves in addition to 320 billion cubic metres of natural gas reserves in the Black Sea basin, also demonstrates the importance of the role of energy in new geopolitical balances with investments in renewable energy. According to the report announced in the end of August 2020, renewable energy production increased from 43.94% in December 2019 to 47.9% by the end of August 2020. In this increase, geothermal energy production increased from 2.73% in December 2019 to 3.09% as of the end of August 2020, and wind energy production from 7.20% in December 2019 to 8.41% by the end of August 2020.

According to the report, other data on national and domestic energy production are as follows: As of the end of August 2020, geothermal production constitutes 3.1% of total energy production with 6,152 GWh, wind production accounts for 8.4% of total energy production with 16,744 GWh, and hydraulic production accounts for 30.5% of total energy production with 60,768 GWh. . It is seen that the final capacity in electricity generation is explained in the report as follows: While the total installed power of geothermal power plants is 1.515 MW, the number of power plants is 54, the total installed power of wind power plants is 7.965 MW and the number of power plants is 281.
