AEDAŞ's High Voltage Laboratory to Grow 'Stars of Energy'

After Istanbul and Sivas, a ring was added to the High Voltage Laboratories established within the scope of the protocol signed between AEDAŞ, BEDAŞ and ÇEDAŞ and the General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of National Education.

Within the framework of the 'Stars of Energy' project, which was initiated to produce solutions to the need for trained personnel in the electricity distribution sector, the official opening of the 'High Voltage Laboratory' established by AEDAŞ at Kepez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School was held with a ceremony.

In the 'Stars of Energy' project, which was implemented by Cengiz and Koloğlu Holding, which serves with 3 companies in the electricity distribution sector, with the aim of providing solutions to the sector's need for qualified personnel, the training of the 'stars' has started. Following the 'Vocational Training Protocol' signed with the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education, the High Voltage Branch section required by the sector was opened in 3 vocational high schools determined in Istanbul, Sivas and Antalya. Then, High Voltage Laboratories were established in EU standards for the practical training of the students who chose this branch. After the European Side of Istanbul and Sivas, the official opening ceremony of the laboratory at Kepez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Antalya was held.

At the opening ceremony of the High Voltage Laboratory, which has a special importance in vocational education, Ak Party Antalya Deputy Kemal Çelik, Kepez District Governor Hamdullah Suphi Özgödek, Ministry of National Education General Director of Vocational and Technical Education Prof. Dr. Kemal Varın Numanoğlu, Deputy Mayor of Kepez Municipality Dr. Mustafa Özsoy, AEDAŞ General Manager Bahadır Müdüroğlu as well as many educators and students were present.

"A PROJECT HAS BEEN SIGNED THAT WE FEEL IS MISSING"

Speaking at the opening, Kepez District Governor Hamdullah Suphi Özgödek said, "Today I am very happy to be at the opening of a public-private sector cooperation project that we are proud of. A project that we feel is missing in the field of education has been signed. I hope that this project, which is very meaningful in terms of increasing the employment and education quality of our young people, which we attach great importance to, will spread all over Turkey. I would like to thank all stakeholders, especially the architects of the project."

"A PROJECT THAT WILL BE A ROLE MODEL"

Ministry of National Education General Director of Vocational and Technical Education Prof. Dr. In his opening speech, Kemal Varın Numanoğlu stated that the '2023 Education Vision' prepared within the scope of our country's 2023 targets aims to increase the prestige of vocational education in the medium and long term and to increase the demand for vocational education. Numanoğlu said, "The Stars of Energy project is a project that is important to us in this context and can be a role model. The world's most powerful sector is energy. Surviving in the energy sector is not just about producing energy. It is also extremely important to ensure the safe and uninterrupted distribution of energy. The services of AEDAŞ, BEDAŞ and ÇEDAŞ are a source of pride for us. I am happy to take part in the last leg of this project, which is carried out in order to ensure the quality of this service continuously and to employ qualified students in this field, and I express my gratitude to all stakeholders."

AEDAŞ General Manager Bahadır Müdüroğlu pointed out that practical training is of great importance in the High Voltage Branch and said, "In the High Voltage Laboratory we established at Kepez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, 35 of our students will learn all the stages of electricity by experiencing them personally. Our support to our friends who will be our colleagues in the future will not be limited to this. We will also offer internship opportunities in our company to our students studying in the High Voltage Branch. I wish that our Stars of Energy project, which melts our professional experience and the knowledge and experience of our valuable teachers in the same pot, will be beneficial to the Turkish education system, our students and our sector."

63 STUDENTS SELECTED THE HIGH VOLTAGE BRANCH

Following the signing of the Vocational Education Cooperation Protocol between the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education and BEDAŞ, AEDAŞ and ÇEDAŞ on June 27, 2018, the laboratory in Antalya was opened after Istanbul and Sivas. While the laboratories with European Union standards were trained for the 2018-2019 academic year, the number of students studying in the High Voltage Branch department in 3 provinces, 12 in Istanbul, 16 in Sivas and 35 in Antalya, reached 63.

With the project, the 'High Voltage Branch', which is not preferred in the electrical department of vocational high schools due to the high material prices and the lack of sufficient support from the sector, has been brought back to the education system.

SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE GIVEN FOR TWO YEARS

Students who prefer the High Voltage Branch will be taught all stages of electricity from production to transmission and distribution in laboratories. While the project in question produces solutions to the sector's need for trained personnel, the children who graduate will take their first steps into the sector safely because they receive practical training in this field, which is in the dangerous professions class.

In the meantime, successful students will be given a monthly scholarship of 500 TL and internship opportunities will be offered at BEDAŞ, ÇEDAŞ and AEDAŞ. At the same time, managers and employees of these distribution companies will be mentored to transfer their knowledge and experience to the students. Within the scope of the Stars of Energy project, which aims to provide students with the training required by professional formation in high-voltage laboratories, the Electricity Market course was also included in the curriculum.
