Accordingly, the "General Technical Specification of Cables", which includes the "Table of Association of Fire Response Performance Classes of Cables and Building Types and Areas in the Structure", was published and entered into force.

Ensuring the safety of life and property in fires, where thousands of people lose their lives every year, has a close relationship with the performance of the materials used. In the structures being built today, the choice of cables also plays a very critical and important role in building safe living quarters.

T.c. With the " General Technical Specification of Cables" notified by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the fire response performance classes of electrical cables were associated with the building types and areas within the structure.

Tamer Yavuztürk, Director of Marketing and Business Development of Türk Prysmian Cable, gave the following information about the new decision: "Within the scope of the continuation of the Construction Materials Regulation, which became mandatory in our country on July 1, 2017 together with all European Union countries ; In order to increase the fire safety level of the buildings in our country, T.R. What is the purpose of the Construction Materials Regulation?

Tamer Yavuztürk said the following about the purpose of the Construction Materials Regulation: "The purpose of the regulation; to determine the procedures and principles related to the placing on the market and to keep building materials on the market by creating the rules of performance declarations related to the basic characteristics of building materials and the affixing of CE marking to materials, as well as to create a reliable source of information regarding the performance of building materials. Construction Materials Regulation; In addition to manufacturers, regulatory and supervisory institutions, project companies, contractor companies, engineers or architects also impose different obligations on end users. Ensuring safety at the time of fire, limiting the production and spread of flame and smoke to other structures at the time of a fire that may arise in any structure; it is intended that people can be safely evacuated from the fire scene and that fire intervention can be carried out safely."

Stating that the regulation covers the features of the power, control and communication cables used in the buildings and the installation and supply works, Tamer Yavuztürk expressed his thoughts as follows: "The regulation published in the Official Gazette has been a very important step in the field of cable safety.
