"The driving force of our growth-oriented strategy will be sustainability" Zorlu Energy President Sinan Ak, who stated that they continue their investments to implement the smart energy systems of the future; He stated that they put sustainability at the center while creating the growth model and that the carrier force of Zorlu Energy's growth-oriented strategy would be sustainability. Sinan Ak continued his words as follows: "We see sustainability as a guide that guides all our work. We shape our sustainability policy in line with the fight against climate change, the management of greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency, responsible stakeholder dialogue and the conservation of natural resources, and we believe that this is the right and effective way to achieve long-term, sustainable growth. "With our renewable energy investments, we have reduced emissions by 3 thousand hectares of forest area" Stating that as of the end of 2017, 76 percent of Zorlu Energy's domestic installed power is based on renewable energy sources, Sinan Ak stated that they have implemented clean, low-emission and advanced technologies power plant projects in our country with the awareness that global climate change is one of the biggest risks and threats. Sinan Ak continued his words as follows: "Our total installed capacity, which had 444 MW of renewable energy capacity in 2015, reached 568 MW by the end of 2017. At the same time, while Zorlu Energy's net electricity generation from renewable energy in Turkey accounted for 77% of total electricity production in 2016, this value reached 82% in 2017. As a result of the production we made from renewable energy sources in 2016-2017 covering this reporting period, we achieved voluntary emission reductions as much as a forest of nearly 3 thousand hectares. Again, we carried out Turkey's largest transplantation application and moved approximately 1600 fig and olive trees in Kızıldere III JES field to another location without being damaged." As the first energy company in Turkey to calculate its carbon footprint, we have also become a pioneer in this regard by reporting the water footprint for the first time in the CDP Water Program with our Zorlu Energy and Zorlu Natural companies. Zorlu Enerji and Zorlu Natural, two of our companies, received the "Climate Leadership" award in the "2017 CDP Climate Change Program" and the "Our Energy is for Children" Project received national and international awards, including the "Low Carbon Hero" award.
