I know that the detector detects this at the beginning of a fire" According to the "Industrial Facilities Fire and Explosion Report" prepared by the Chamber of Chemical Engineers of TMMOB; In the first 6 months of 2018, 137 fire and explosion cases occurred. In these cases, 5 workers lost their lives and 103 workers were injured. Unfortunately, in the 155 separate fire and explosion incidents reflected in the report last year; 20 people lost their lives and 308 people were injured. We talked with Ersin Kabakçı, Risk Engineering and Fire Group Responsible of Oyak Renault Automobile Factories , which is ranked 5th in the "Turkey's 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises" list of Istanbul Chamber of Industry and whose establishment dates back to 1969, about their preferred Fire Detection and Alarm Systems. Stating that the system in their factory was established by EEC Integrated Building Control Systems in 1995, Mr. Ersin said, "We recommend the company's service and products because for me, this system is at the forefront with its reliability." Kabakçı, who gave an example from an incident they experienced; "Other useful features are that it's fast, effective and reliable. For example, there was a fire in the kitchen the other day. At first there was an alarm from one smoke detector. We said, "Maybe steam has come." Then immediately within 1-2 seconds, 1. 2. 3. 4. The detectors are also serialized, making the situation certain. In a very short time, we perceived that there was a real fire there without any hesitation," he said, noting how important the correct perception is for early intervention. Ersin Kabakçı stated that there are different working conditions in each part of the factory and therefore require field-specific solutions; "When we look at it as a perception, if we cannot do it with a smoke detector, we choose the product according to the region with the beam detector, and if it does not happen, with smoke detection with air draw. The EEC is very supportive in that regard. For example, the paint shop needed a solvent detector. There is too much density in one part of the room and little density in the other, we decided on VESDA. Because it can be divided into two parts; it's like one side is more sensitive, the other side is less sensitive." About EEC, where they received the Fire Detection and Alarm Systems service, "Whether it was about the time to deliver the work or the approach of the sales personnel, the EEC did not give us any problems. It is an advantageous situation for us, especially to have employees in Bursa and to be able to come when we call.We have easy access to technical service when we need it," he said, explaining why they feel safe.
