The opening of the Çetin Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP), located within the borders of Şirvan and Pervari districts of Siirt, will be held by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sunday at 15.00.

Çetin Dam and HEPP, which is the largest RCC type dam in Europe with a total installed capacity of 420 MW, the construction of which was completed by the Limak Group of Companies in a record time of 2.5 years, will be opened on Sunday with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan via video conference.

Çetin Dam, located on the Botan River, the largest tributary of the Tigris River, is the largest dam in Turkey and Europe according to the type of cylinder compacted concrete (RCC). The body volume of the dam, whose RCC body is 165 meters high, is 4.8 million m3.

Çetin Dam and HEPP, the construction of which was completed by Limak Group with a total investment of 600 million dollars, will realize an average annual energy production of 1.5 billion kWh after starting full capacity electricity production and will contribute 100 million dollars annually to the Turkish economy.

Çetin Dam and HEPP, which are expected to make a great contribution to our national economy in terms of using our country's domestic and renewable resources, will also greatly reduce our energy imports from abroad.
