Haefly Sets New Record with 0.5 pC PD Level at 1'000 kV Without Filter at Nominal Voltage
The filter of the future challenges all suppliers and laboratories on the market.
Newer technologies and higher testing demands have made test laboratories more intensive than performing proficiency tests on new switchgear to power cables. The PSZ AC, power supply, optionally adjustable and reconfigurable, is like a multi-purpose Swiss army knife that can achieve tremendous performances. Up to three modules can be staggered in series to reach 2 A to 1'500 kV and can provide higher current output via parallel connection. In addition to the system, a state-of-the-art electronic power supply that allows it to be supplied with frequencies ranging up to 200 Hz. Other typical applications are separate weld strength voltage testing on transformers and gauge transformers and a phase source voltage test.
Haefely set a new record and successfully tested its AC stepped transformer (PSZ 1000) with a PD level of less than 0.5 PCs for a customer, proving once again its promise of Swiss quality and Swiss precision. The measurement was carried out at nominal voltage directly at the AC stepped output, without any additional filters. Achieving such low PD levels for a system of this size is a really challenging task and is a direct result of HAEFELY's basic knowledge and experience in this regard.
