MEAT: As Demir Makine, you are the first company in Turkey to produce transformer accessories. You have serious experience in the industry. Could you tell us briefly about the history of Demir Makine? Yüksel Unal: Demir Makine started its business life in the 60s as a family company that produces parts for white goods sector companies. In 1975, he moved to his factory in Kartal at that time and shifted his production completely to transformer accessories. Demir Makine, which pioneered its sector in its factory in Kartal for 41 years, expanded its product portfolio in December 2015 and moved to its factory equipped with advanced technology machines in Dilovası İMES OIZ, where it is currently located. Here, as the first company in Turkey to produce transformer accessories with our 55 expert staff, we continue to produce transformer accessories at world standards for transformer manufacturers at home and abroad. MEAT: Which transformer accessories are currently in Demir Makine's product portfolio? Yüksel Ünal: Demir Makine, which leads other companies operating in this field with more than 40 years of experience, produces bushing, commutators and all other transformer accessories for power, distribution and locomotive transformers manufacturers without compromising on quality; contributes to their production of quality transformers. Copper and brass busbars and connection equipment, including Low Voltage, High Voltage (up to 12500Ampere) and BS series bushing tools, commutators, thermometers, vertical-horizontal-beaded-magnetic oil level indicators, pressure safety valves, air dryers, butterfly valves, oil drain assemblies, metal boiler accessories in the Iron Machine product range, which is wide enough to meet all the accessory needs of a transformer manufacturer, exists. To put it briefly, I can say that we have the infrastructure and product range to meet all the accessory needs of a transformer manufacturer from A to Z. MEAT: What are the features that distinguish Demir Makine from its competitors? Yüksel Unal: Perhaps the most important feature that distinguishes Demir Makine from its competitors is its more than 40 years of production experience brought about by being the first company in the sector. Demir Makine, which produces for Alstom, ABB, Schneider, BEST and many other domestic and foreign companies in the process, is a company that has been able to assimilate the technical and quality demands of these companies and to perfect its infrastructure and system accordingly. Thanks to our strong machine park and production tracking system, we are able to provide our customers with very fast deliveries compared to our competitors. The hot forged presses, sheet metal processing machines, CNS metal processing machines, plastic injection machines, welding and assembly departments that we have in our structure allow us to make very flexible and fast production and keep the quality under control. Thus, we can deliver the products that our competitors have terminated as 6-8 weeks to our customers in maximum 2-3 weeks and even daily deadlines in case of urgent need. MEAT: We see that Demir Makina has entered a transformation in a certain sense. After 40 years, you changed your logo; you are very active on social media. What is this transformation, can you tell us? Yüksel Unal: Yes, Demir Makine is already working with very serious companies at home and abroad. For example, we are a global supplier to Schneider Electric. We have been the main supplier of Preis in Austria, one of the most important players in the sector in Europe, for many years. We already supply materials to almost all transformer manufacturers in Turkey. With a strategic approach, Demir Makine decided to contribute to the country's economy with more exports by delivering the understanding of production and quality to transformer manufacturers in many parts of the world. Today, while our European competitors can sell serious volumes of products to Asia, the Far East and the Middle East, why should we, as the supplier of international giant companies, not get more share from this cake. For this purpose, we have changed our sales-marketing strategy; we are carrying out serious projects within the company in terms of production efficiency and traceability. This is a complete transformation project. We decided to change our logo after 40 years as a symbol of this transformation; we have set our slogan as "The best complement of transformers". Because we believe that the quality of a transformer is at least as decisive as the design of the transformer. As for social media, you know that in today's world, social media management has become indispensable for modern sales-marketing understanding. We are trying to use social media effectively and try to fulfill the requirements of today's world in this regard.   MEAT: Can you tell us very briefly about the future plans of Demir Makine? Yüksel Unal: Yes, in the near future, Demir Makine will add new products to its existing product portfolio. We also have plans on our agenda to offer our customers some extra after-sales services related to our products; in fact, these planned services will be the first in the world transformer accessory industry.
