Legrand unveils the new wire-based suspension system, Swiftwire. This device, which can suspend products from Legrand's overall portfolio of cable management and lighting busbars, offers quick installation compared to conventional gear rod suspension systems and also improves health and safety.

The Swiftwire system has safe working loads approved by third parties and consists of a single casting mechanism with a high tensile rating (1960N/mm2) galvanized or stainless steel wire and two independent locking channels for maximum connection safety. Available in five different sizes, the housing of the movement is made of Zamac 5 with stainless steel springs and wedges, making it ideal for use in many corrosive environments.

The keyless adjustment in the swiftwire mechanism allows for quick and easy adjustment of the system to ensure correct installation, while the ergonomic design of the mechanism allows for easy installation and handling when wearing gloves.

In addition to being assembled faster than threaded bar systems, Swiftwire requires less material to complete equivalent jobs. A 100-meter threaded rod assembly requires a 34 x 3m long rod with a combined weight of about 45 kg. Only 7kg of wire is required to complete the same installation using the Swiftwire system, making it easy to transport to the site and to install manually.

The Swiftwire system consists of application-specific packages that come with all the relevant cables, fasteners and mechanisms that allow for more efficient project management.

Pre-packaged wire systems are also available along with ring-tipped wires to facilitate enveloping installations, including beams, roof beams, roof trusses and other available features. Legrand offers special packages of its cable management product portfolio that enable multiple enclosures to operate in parallel to facilitate trapezoidal installations. For concrete ceilings, a number of more packages are available, which include various concrete anchorage connections; the assortment also includes additional equipment that will help maintain other types of ceilings.
