With the launch of the NYTRO® BIO 300X, Nynas completes its portfolio of high-performance transformer fluids by adding its first product to its new bio-based product range.

Nynas, Global Market Manager for the Electrical Industry, Koen Kempeneer; "The NYTRO BIO 300X is the result of years of intensive research. Now we are able to offer 100% renewable product with superior performance. There are no other products on the market today. This is a real innovation," he said.

An important advantage of this new liquid is that it provides exceptionally good cooling thanks to its ultra-low viscosity. The winding hot spot temperature of the transformer can be significantly reduced. Initial studies show up to 10 degrees of healing compared to average mineral oils and about 20 degrees lower compared to ester fluids. In addition to its overload capability, it has huge potential, within thermal design optimization.

According to Carl Wolmarans, Electrical Industry Technical Advisor at Nynas, NYTRO BIO 300X is also the only product in the world that combines ready-made biodegradability and superior oxidation stability. Like all other Nynas products for the electrical industry, the NYTRO BIO 300X is fully recyclable.

The NYTRO BIO 300X does not meet but exceeds IEC 60296 specifications. This product, added to NYNAS' portfolio, gives transformer OEMs and utilities greater flexibility in selecting the most suitable fluid for a particular application.
