The new XLS product family, developed in collaboration with Osram and Koito, introduces standardized LED-based signal lights to the industry. The new XLS is a first in the industry with the feature of being a uniform platform with three different light versions. The LED signal lights produced by the high-tech company Osram with Koito are the design face of the new Toyota Corolla Sport. The new XLS products are able to cover all major signal applications in vehicles and are easy to change. Removing the complexity experienced by automakers and minimizing overall costs, Osram's XLS lamps LY5 and LW5 illuminate the new Toyota Corolla models from 2018. LED technology provides a great deal of flexibility to vehicle and automotive lighting designers and manufacturers. Over the past few years, a large number of customized LED lighting solutions have been created that make today's supply chain extremely complex. To reduce this complexity, Osram has developed an innovative LED light source for signal light applications in the automotive industry.
Can Dikmen, CEO of Osram Turkey, said, "As Osram, we offer the sector a product range that includes all the innovative advantages of LED technology with its XLS product family. With this new series, we significantly reduce complexity by responding correctly to customer needs. We prove the success of our products with the brands we prefer."
LED signal light sources on a single platform The robust design of Osram's products ensures a long and reliable working life. The small footprint of LEDs makes it possible to miniaturize electronic, optical and mechanical components. XLS products offer protection against electrostatic discharge, transient and overvoltages in a small space.
Sets new standards in interchangeable lamps The XLS product family offers a wide range of advantages for headlights, automakers and consumers. A uniform standardized platform for turn indicators reduces the number of different lighting solutions in cars. This significantly reduces overall costs for automakers in many areas, including supply chain, development and quality control. The reuse of design modules and the same platforms avoids loss of time. With a standardized platform, it enables easy replacement of light sources and reduces the need for repair operations, which in turn reduces costs. From the summer of 2018, the new XLS product family began to take to the streets of Japan with the new Toyota Corolla Sport model. Osram XLS continues to work to expand its product portfolio.
