Sigma toroidal current transformers are circuit elements specially produced for Sigma residual current detection relays.
Sigma toroidal current transformers;
80mm, 110mm, 160mm, 210mm, 300mm as standard type according to the inner diameter
As an openable type according to the inner diameter of 110mm and 210mm
They are produced as rectangular type as 280*1125 and 470*160mm.
The combination of residual current detection relay + opening coil + thermal magnetic switch created using toroidal current transformers protects living things against electric shock or fire risks that may arise from insulation failure of buildings/workplaces.
In this combination, the thermal magnetic circuit breaker performs the process of opening and closing the circuit with other auxiliary elements used in case of leakage current, while at the same time protecting the system against overload currents and short circuit currents. The residual current detection relay measures the leakage current from the toroidal current transformers, allowing the circuit breaker to quickly break the circuit if the specified leakage current level is exceeded.
Sigma Electric toroidal current passes through the transformers through phase and neutral conductors. The vector sums of the currents going through the phase conductor and returning through the neutral conductor are zero "0" if no leakage occurs in the system. When a leakage current occurs in the system, toroidal current transformers detect this difference current and protect the system thanks to the residual current protection relay and circuit breaker.
Thanks to Sigma Electric toroidal current transformers, it offers the opportunity to choose suitable products for all kinds of project needs with standard type, rectangular type and openable type. Sigma rectangular type toroidal current transformers are generally used in electrical panels where the installed power is high and open type switches are used. Thanks to Sigma openable type toroidal current transformers, time and labor are saved by easy and fast installation in practice.
