We talked with Ersan Demir about the company, its goals and studies.
Can you tell us about yourself and your position in the company so that our readers know you closely?
After graduating from Kocaeli University, Department of Electrical Engineering, I completed the MBA program at the same university. I have been continuing my working life, which I started in the Iron and Steel sector, as a senior manager in various companies in the production of Low Voltage Electrical Panelfor more than 10 years. I am married, I have 1 son.
Star Pano is a company known for its high quality production. It is one of the rare companies that never compromise on quality in the sector and carries out engineering studies by anticipating what its customers ultimately need while it is still in the proposal stage.
Our company, which has been operating since 1994, has been producing Siemens brand electrical panels by taking the Sivacon Technology Partnership of Siemens, the world giant of our sector, since 2000. In addition, we continue to meet the needs of our valued customers with the Starpan brand, whose know-how belongs entirely to our company and is produced only in Star Pano facilities.
We are involved in many challenging industrial facility, airport, bridge, rail system, data center, power plant, mine, hospital, hotel, shopping mall, fuel station and bank projects from the cement sector to iron and steel.
Some of the electrical panel systems we produce consist of Main Distribution and secondary panels, compensation panels, drawer and fixed type motor control panels, lighting panels, RTU and PLC panels, HV system relay panels, DDC panels, driver panels, ATS panels.
What kind of infrastructure do you have as a company? What are the highlights of your products?
In our company, we have very experienced employees who have been progressing together for many years in all our units from production to quality control, from proposal to design. With this experience gained over the years, we are able to analyze the needs of our customers better than themselves and direct them to the right solution. We never compromise on our quality standards.
With our 27 years of experience, we aim to offer our high-quality service to end users abroad as well as our customers in the domestic market. For this reason, we are expanding our sales and marketing department with our new teammates.
In order to increase our export rate, we have accelerated the continuous R & D studies of our Starpan brand, which we trust very much. In this department, we strengthen our team.
We plan to increase our software and machinery investments and technological tools.
With the pandemic process, as in all sectors, we have clearly seen the importance of digitalization and that it will be an important part of our future lives.
As Star Pano, we follow our business processes through our ERP software. We have made some improvements to our website, we continue to do so. During the pandemic, we started to offer remote FAT to our customers who could not come to the factory acceptance tests. We continue to work on a platform where they can follow all our production processes online. With QRCode, we have also completed our work where our panels can access electrical projects, catalogs of the equipment used, instructions for use and test certificates online. We have accelerated the development of the design and assembly instructions of our Starpan branded panels.
How do you position your company in the sector by taking into account the competition process in the panel sector?

We do not have any dealership or sales representative in the country, but we continue our negotiations for business partnerships in the target markets where we want to increase our sales volume abroad.
We have established a research team consisting of our colleagues working in different departments within our company. Together with this team, we are researching different methods applied in our sector, especially abroad, the software used, good and special practices and we are trying to develop ideas on what we can do better in line with the information we have obtained.
In all our business processes, we have adopted a business discipline that strictly adheres to the requirements of ISO 900:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 quality management systems with our team.

We do our job passionately and wholeheartedly. We have a very pleasant and peaceful working environment. This is directly reflected in the quality of our work. Our customers start to feel this difference from the first moment they start working with us.
The pandemic has taught us a lot. As I mentioned before, we have accelerated our digitalization efforts in this process. We have taken many measures to ensure the safety of our employees and customers in all our processes.
Despite all the negative processes experienced globally, 2020 was a very good year for us. In 2021, it has obviously enabled us to increase our expectations. We have raised our targets considerably. We expect to have a very active year, especially in the target markets abroad, and our realizations in the first quarter of the year support these targets.
