"Transformer Electromechanics, which has been restructured in the organization chart based on the work of the R&D Center, aims to produce products with high added value to the sector and the world. Transformator Elektromekanik, which is the 2nd company that produces the most in Turkey with 800 units per month in the production of distribution transformers, is proud of having successfully achieved its goals in these challenging environments with a growth of 35% compared to the previous year in 2018."
Could you give us a brief introduction about your Transformer Electromechanical Company? Transformer Electromechanical; Adana Haci Sabanci
manufactures oil and dry type transformers branded as BETA and MFC branded oil and dry type transformers with a team of 248 people who are experts in their fields in Adana Haci Sabanci Organized Industrial Zone (23.800 m 2 of which is closed, in two separate facilities located on a total area of 64.800 m 2).
Our company has 100% domestic capital and ranks first among transformer manufacturers when export rate, production capacity, quality, institutionality and product diversity criteria are taken into consideration. Operating in the field of design and manufacture of oily and dry type distribution transformers, power and special transformers, Transformer Electromechanical has become a preferred partner with its modern production facilities equipped with the latest technology and its specialized staff. In our company, our production capacity in oil-type transformers is 800 pieces per month, dry type transformers and our power transformer production varies according to demand and can be produced between 5mVA-100mVA.

We export 25% of our production to the domestic market and 75% to more than 30 countries. Our export markets include England, Germany, Libya, Iraq, Nigeria, Ghana, Yemen, Kenya, Uganda, Kosovo, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Syria, Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso, Gabon etc. countries where we are strong. As a company, we were entitled to receive the title of R&D Center from the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology in 2017. Our R&D Center has a dynamic structure where different disciplines come together with approximately 30 Research assistants, 3 at PhD and 4 at Master's level. Within the scope of the R&D Center, there are 5 TÜBİTAK projects, 3 of which have been successfully completed and 2 of which are ongoing. Restructured on the basis of the work of the R&D Center, Transformer aims to produce products with high added value to the electromechanical sector and the world.
What types of transformers do you manufacture or market? What are the main features of your products? Our products; Dry Type Transformer is in the form of Expansion Storage Transformer, Hermetic Transformer and Special Transformer.
Dry Type Transformer; MFC branded as high-quality and performance cast-resin dry-type distribution transformers for different applications in three or single phases from 100 kVA to 52kV insulation levels from 100 kVA to 10 mVA. Dry type distribution transformers with cast resin are moisture resistant and can operate at temperatures as low as -25 ° C and are ideal transformers that can operate in environments with more than 95% humidity.
Expansion Storage Transformer; They are produced in the power range of 10-100.000 kVA, up to 170 kV high voltage level, three or single phase, oil, ONAN, ONAF cooled, idle tap changer or automatic tap changer under load, both external and internal use.
Hermetic Transformer; They are produced in the power range of 10-3.150 kVA, up to 36 kV high voltage level, three or single phase, oil, ONAN, ONAF cooled, idle tap changer or automatic tap changer under load, both external and internal use. The height is low because there is no expansion tank in Hermetic Transformers. It provides installation in smaller areas. It is especially advantageous in compact transformer centers.
Special Transformer; They are produced in the power range of 10-100.000 kVA, up to 170 kV high voltage level, three or single phase, oil, ONAN, ONAF cooled, idle tap changer or automatic tap changer under load, both external and internal use.
Could you tell us about your "After Sales and Technical Support" activities? Working under load up to 500 kV EKAT (T.E.İ.A.Ş.-SOMA) authorized by our experienced, expert engineers and technicians who have received high voltage, occupational safety and first aid trainings and we carry out periodic annual maintenance of all primary and secondary equipment in the switchyards of HEPP, RES and GES power generation plants. We plan to make new partnerships to further expand our existing service networks abroad.
What quality certificate, certificates and type test documents do you have? Our products are manufactured in accordance with TSE manufacturing Qualification and IEC 60076 standards. Our productions are certified with OHSAS 18001:2007 and TSE standard compliance ISO 9001: 2008 quality system and ISO 14001 environmental management system certificates. As a result of the audit conducted by TÜRKAK, our laboratory was accredited according to ISO/ILAC 17025 standard. Our type tests are provided by KEMA and ICMET.
What are your views on the problems of the sector and the solution of these problems? Due to the developing technology, the globalizing world and the increasing energy requirements in every field, the electromechanical manufacturing industry has become one of the rapidly growing sectors in the world. With the global energy increase, we can list the main problems that arise in the sector on the basis of energy transmission and efficiency with the least loss as follows; * The use of high-loss transformers produced according to old specifications in electricity distribution. * Old electrical systems do not comply with new electrical systems. * Lengthening of the deadlines for the renewal of transmission lines due to procedural procedures. * Continuing to use electrical equipment that has lost its functionality in the electricity distribution line. * Employment of unqualified personnel in the field of maintenance and repair.
I can list our main suggestions to overcome these troublesome processes as follows;
- Rapid integration of low loss ECODESIGN transformers instead of high loss transformers,
- Despite network changes; the use of transformers with two-stage changers of special production,
- Acceleration of TEDAŞ and Municipality procedures,
- Replacement of electrical equipment that has completed 20 years and lost its functionality with new ones,
- Employing personnel with EKAT derived certificates in the field by the relevant companies,
- Incentives need to be further increased in order to carry out the necessary infrastructure works.
Would you evaluate 2018 in terms of your company? Transformator Elektromekanik, which is the 2nd company that produces the most distribution transformer production in Turkey with 800 units per month, has experienced the justified pride of having successfully achieved our goals in these challenging environments with 35% growth in 2018 compared to the previous year.
What would you like to say about your overseas studies and investments? In the next five years, we will focus on studies abroad. Among our targets in the new period, we will have machinery investments to improve and improve the capacity increase of our power transformer production. The construction of our new Ethiopia-based factory, which we started to invest in 2015, is 80% finished. We aim to complete this factory in the coming period and to create the necessary service network with our partners (not only in terms of production, but also in order to provide service and maintenance to geographically distant places). In addition, it is among our goals to make the necessary investment for production in Serbia.
