New Brighter and More Flexible Tower Lighting from Rockwell Automation
Tower Lighting houses seven modules in the same body for ease of use and selection.
Rockwell Automation introduces the new Allen-Bradley Control Tower 856T 70 mm Tower Lighting system. This new system provides brighter LED illumination and offers a much wider range of visual and audio technologies, all in a 70mm diameter body. The ControlTower 856T covers up to seven modules in the same housing, allowing for more machine and process status to be displayed. This new modular design allows the ControlTower 856T to meet the needs of a much wider range of signal applications with fewer components. Alvaro Sanchez, product manager at Rockwell Automation, said: "Our new tower lighting enables engineers to speed up time to market by reducing the number of components they have to choose from. Users' cost of ownership can also be reduced thanks to scalable visual and audio options and the ability to monitor more machines from a single tower of lighting."

At the core of the tower lighting system are push-in terminal blocks, and inside the light and sound modules are built-in DIP switches, allowing engineers to easily configure the operating modes. Engineers can choose from a range of audio technologies to help alert operators to the condition of a machine. These sound options include multi-tone pressurized electric and multi-tone transformer technologies. The ControlTower 856T system also includes non-stackable, pointing lighting modules that require a lower profiled signaling device but can be used when the same tower lighting infrastructure is to be used.

The IP66/67-rated system can be used in harsher ambient conditions or extreme ambient temperatures (up to 70 Celcius). To meet global compliance requirements, the system is available in 24V AC/DC and 120/240V AC options. The range is available both as individual components, pre-configured and in the factory body with optimal flexibility.
