Ayedaş established disaster communication system against earthquake

With the disaster communication system commissioned by Ayedaş for the first time in the sector, in case of damage to the communication infrastructure due to the earthquake in Istanbul, Ayedaş teams will be able to continue their work by communicating with each other. Communication and coordination will be provided between Ayedaş Center Remote Control and Data Monitoring (SCADA) center, headquarters and radio operator buildings and field teams

The Disaster Communication System, developed by Enerjisa's Başkent EDAŞ and Toroslar EDAŞ and Anatolian Side Electricity Distribution Inc. (Ayedaş), one of the 3 companies to which it provides electricity distribution to more than 21 million users, was commissioned to be used on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, which is the service area of the company, in the event of a possible Istanbul earthquake.

Ayedaş teams, which have communicated with the latest technology video push-to-talk system in field operations until today, will be able to maintain communication and coordination between network management, general directorate, radio operator buildings and field teams by being self-sufficient in communication even in cases where telecommunication service is interrupted as a result of earthquakes and similar disasters.

While 3 towers and 2 mobile communication stations were commissioned within the scope of the system, nearly 500 Ayedaş team vehicles were equipped with communication systems that enable communication through these towers and stations.

Thus, Ayedaş commissioned an alternative and independent communication system in 95 percent of the Anatolian Side of Istanbul, which is its mission area, in order to take precautions against possible Istanbul earthquakes and large-scale disasters.

Alternative systems against difficult conditions from Enerjisa

Enerjisa Distribution Companies have recently developed and put into use many mobile and alternative systems by carrying out important works against disaster situations.

By developing a mobile alternative within a bus of the Central Remote Control and Data Monitoring (SCADA) centers operating within the buildings and which may become unusable in disasters, one or all of the Başkent EDAŞ, Toroslar EDAŞ and Ayedaş networks, which serve more than 21 million users, have been made remotely manageable.

On the other hand, in the recent period, mobile generators large enough to feed the districts of 15-20 thousand people have been developed and commissioned for the energy supply of the regions whose networks are completely damaged in disasters such as heavy snow, fire, earthquake and flood.

Finally, with the disaster communication system, after the alternative energy supply and mobile network control, an alternative communication system was implemented for extraordinary conditions.
