Eaton Turkey - Üçay Signs Partnership Agreement with Group

Power management firm Eaton has signed a partnership agreement with Üçay Group within the scope of its activities in Turkey in the sale and service of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations solutions.

Eaton signed its partnership agreement with Üçay Group at a signing ceremony in Istanbul last week. Within the scope of the agreement, Üçay Group aims to deliver the sales and service of Eaton's solutions such as Electric Vehicle AC and DC Charging Stations, load balancing units, network charge management software (CNM) and RFID payment systems to end users through its sales and contracting companies. Üçay Mühendislik A.Ş., one of the group companies, will provide supply and assembly services for end users with its 56 branches in 25 provinces, while ISOMER A.Ş., which has more than 2,500 dealers throughout Turkey, will provide product sales and technical support services in the B2B channel.

Eaton aims to bring the "Energy Generating Buildings" approach to energy conversion and electric vehicle charging to the Turkish market by simultaneously presenting a comprehensive hardware, software and service package that can transform buildings into energy hubs that provide maximum benefit from renewable energy production. As part of this approach, Eaton has acquired Green Motion, the leading Swiss Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station company, aiming to provide users with a wide range of solutions related to Electric Vehicle Charging solutions.

Comprehensive and integrated energy transition begins in Turkey

Yilmaz Ozcan, Country Manager of Eaton Electric Turkey, said: "With the acquisition of Green Motion, no other company in the market can offer a comprehensive and integrated energy conversion offer for building owners. With the Generating Buildings approach, our buildings help building owners integrate renewable energy and address the challenges associated with transportation and heat electrification. In addition, it enables building owners to play an important role in facilitating and optimizing their transition to a high renewable energy system. The electrification of transport and heating will place ever-increasing demands on distribution networks as more load is added. BloombergNEF modelling shows that when the electrical energy generated and stored can also be used to support local grid lines, the cost of grid increases to cope with mass electrification can be reduced. In addition, I would like to share with Üçay Group that we have made a partnership agreement with a valuable organization such as Üçay Group as a partner at a point where the transformation in energy, which is one of the most important issues of our time, and accordingly its use in electric vehicles is increasing day by day. Considering its extensive branch network, existing product portfolio, engineering and logistics infrastructure, Üçay Group is one of the leading companies in the market. With this important partnership agreement we have signed with Üçay Group, we aim to offer our products, solutions and engineering services on Electric Vehicle Charging Stations to the entire Turkish market."

With TOGG, the perception of electric vehicle use will change In addition, Üçay Group CEO Turan Şakacı said about the cooperation, "There are very important developments in the Electric Vehicle market in Turkey and in the world. Electric vehicles are an important part of a sustainable future plan. Serious sanction steps are being taken all over the world, especially in Europe. At the same time, with the planning of our domestic vehicle TOGG to hit the roads in 2023, I believe that the perception of electric vehicle use by our country's consumers and the demand in the electric vehicle market will increase. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been looking for a reliable partner with whom we can work in this area. As of today, we have signed an important cooperation with Eaton in this regard. Eaton is a very important technology company. There are significant R&D studies and investments in energy management. As Üçay Group, we believe that we will join hands with Eaton and take the lead in the establishment of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Turkey by moving forward rapidly."
