GÜNDER, GENSED and GÜYAD visited Energy Minister Dönmez

Solar energy sector associations GÜNDER, GENSED and GÜYAD visited Energy Minister Fatih Dönmez at his office to evaluate the latest developments in Turkey's solar energy sector, the expectations of the sector and the planned works.
GÜNDER- Kutay Kaleli, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkey Section of the International Solar Energy Society, Halil Demirdağ, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GENSED-Solar Energy Industrialists and Industry Association, and Cem Özkök, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GÜYAD-Solar Energy Investors Association, visited the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez at his office. During the visit, views were exchanged on current issues related to the development of Turkey's solar energy sector and the work to be done to increase investments.
"YEKDEM should be extended with the same conditions"
The Chairmen of the Board of Directors of GÜNDER, GENSED and GÜYAD raised their views on the extension of the Mechanism for Supporting Renewable Energy Sources (YEKDEM), which was introduced to encourage the production of electrical energy based on renewable energy sources. The heads of the associations, who conveyed their common views on the extension of the current YEKDEM with the same conditions, also touched on some of the problems that the relevant people are likely to face in 2020, the last year of the application. In addition, the sector was requested to be informed about how unlicensed projects that have completed the 10-year operating period will be integrated into the system after the 10th year.
Stating that they continue to work for the formation of a fully competitive and free market structure in the sector, the presidents of the associations stated that they will support the dissemination of new technologies and the development of legislation with all their resources and knowledge.
"Mini YEKAs will be held in the last quarter of 2019"
Within the scope of the ministry visit, YEKA (Renewable Energy Resource Area) projects, which have been awaited for a long time by the solar energy sector, were discussed. In 35-40 provinces from the easternmost to the west of Turkey, mini YEKA tenders for installations with capacities ranging from 10 to 50 megawatts will be held in the last quarter of 2019. Within the scope of YEKA-3 projects, which investors can implement with their own resources thanks to small capacities, each investor will be able to find their own land and complete other processes. For the cancelled YEKA-2, the projects to be divided into 20-30-50-100 MW parts, which are the common opinion of the sector associations, and which will be made more feasible, were welcomed by the Ministry.
"Opinions will be obtained from 3 associations for the financing of the sun"
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Dönmez emphasized that banks and sector associations will be discussed on the financing of solar energy projects and that all three associations will act together to overcome the financing problems experienced especially in roof-type installations.
"The distribution fee should not be paid in 5.1.ç"
Within the scope of the visit, the Regulation on Unlicensed Electricity Generation in the Electricity Market, which paves the way for rooftop solar energy applications and where monthly offsetting is implemented, was discussed. It has been determined by the associations that there have been problems in the sector in the recent period 5. Article 1. The common opinion that the projects applying according to the third paragraph of the paragraph should not pay distribution fees was presented to Minister Dönmez.
Proposal from Associations for Land Type GESs
The associations presented their common views to pave the way for the construction of GESs on the site without agricultural land for plant installations that do not have the necessary space on the roof. Consultations were held to allow GES to be built on lands that do not have agricultural qualifications, are 15 percent more efficient than the roof and can produce more energy.
