Siemens is the choice of Turkey biomass power plant to use Siemens Steam Turbines in Samsun Biomass Power Plant

Siemens' SST-300 Steam Turbine with a power of 27MWe was preferred at the Samsun Çarşamba Biomass Power Plant, which will produce approximately 200 million kWh of renewable energy per year with the disposal of 250 thousand tons of agricultural and forestry waste. The plant, which has the title of Turkey's second largest biomass power plant, will be commissioned in August 2020.

Siemens continues to contribute to Turkey's waste disposal and clean energy production with its high-efficiency turbines. A contract was signed for Siemens' 27MWe SST-300 steam turbines at Samsun Çarşamba Biomass Power Plant (BES), where Oltan Köleoğlu Enerji is an investor and Mimsan Endüstri Kazanları A.Ş. assumes contracting responsibility. The plant will dispose of 250,000 tons of agricultural and forestry waste per year and generate about 200 million kWh of renewable electrical energy. In this way, Siemens will make a significant contribution to our country's energy policy in the fields of 'zero waste' and 'domestic energy'. Samsun Çarşamba PPS is planned to be commissioned in August 2020.
On the other hand, Siemens SST-300 Steam Turbine was also preferred in the 27MW Afyon Eber BES project, which is another major investment of the same group to be commissioned in the near future. In the project in which Siemens was involved in 2018, the final stage of turbine assembly activities has now been reached. Both plants will share the title of Turkey's second largest biomass power plant when Siemens starts generating electricity with steam turbines. The total installed capacity of 9 different biomass power plants signed by Siemens in Turkey has reached approximately 80MW.
Both turbines and financing for biomass projects come from Siemens.
Siemens, which will provide 27MW condenser Steam Turbine, auxiliary equipment and turbine control system in Samsun Çarşamba BES project; will manage the assembly and commissioning processes with its expert engineer staff in Turkey.
Siemens, which can offer various financing models according to the scope of the project, provided a leasing solution in the Samsun Çarşamba BES project. The financial leasing solution, which makes a positive contribution to the project cash flow with appropriate payment terms, provides serious support in overcoming the deadline problems experienced by biomass projects with a short approval period that can be expressed in days.
Having an experienced service organization established in Turkey; it puts Siemens at the forefront in terms of operational reliability. Once both plants are commissioned, Siemens will also be able to provide proper maintenance and servicing for the turbine's uninterrupted operation.

Global leader in the market
Industrial steam turbines with fast commissioning feature, designed by Siemens, the global market leader in industrial steam turbines, with an 'economic operation' approach, offer high efficiency. Siemens Steam Turbines, which can be used in both condenser and counter-pressure applications, offer flexible solutions in the chemical-petrochemical, mining, paper and iron and steel sectors, as well as in waste-to-energy production and seawater treatment plants. Siemens Steam Turbines, which require minimal space requirements for installation thanks to their compact design, significantly simplify operations with remote access and control.
