SEDAŞ takes action to initiate legal proceedings by recording electricity uses without subscribing, connections made without passing through the measurement circuit, interventions in the measurement circuit and / or meters.
Illegal Use of Electricity Harms the Country's Economy and the Safety of Life and Property
Pointing out that the use of illegal electricity harms the country's economy, SEDAŞ Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Necmi Odyakmaz underlined that this situation is important in terms of energy efficiency, quality electricity use, as well as the safety of life and property. He stated that the electricity distribution network was established according to the number of subscribers in the relevant region, and that the use of illegal electricity increased the load on the network, causing negativities such as power cuts and voltage drops, and that energy adversely affected the technical quality. SEDAŞ Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Necmi Odyakmaz said, "We detect that illegal electricity is used in places such as tents and construction sites, especially in rural areas, where seasonal workers are housed during hazelnut time. In such places, there is an electrical leak because the installation structure does not comply with the technical specifications and standards. Therefore, there may be a risk of being caught in the electric current or the safety of people and animals, as well as material damage and fire." Said.
