Solar Istanbul Fair Introduction Meeting was held.

TG Expo International Exhibition Organization and Solar Energy Industrialists' and Industry Association GENSED; On 11-13 March 2020, they held a press conference for the "Solar Istanbul 2020 - Solar Energy, Energy Storage, Electric Transportation and Digitalization Exhibition and Conference", which they will organize for the first time.
The issue of renewable energy production and use is increasing its importance both in the world and in our country. To be able to provide energy uninterruptedly and to provide it in domestic and clean ways is one of the most important missions of every country. Acting from this point, TG Expo International Fairs, one of Turkey's leading exhibition organization companies, will organize an exhibition for the first time in the focus of solar energy in cooperation with GENSED, one of the leading associations of the solar energy sector. Solar Istanbul 2020 - Solar Energy, Energy Storage, Electric Transportation and Digitalization Exhibition and Conference will be held on 11-13 March 2020 at the Istanbul Congress Center.
Solar Istanbul 2020, which will focus on solar energy, the place and future of the sun in renewable energy sources, energy storage, e-transportation and digitalization, brings together investors, manufacturers, sub-industry representatives, regulatory bodies, local governments, energy storage companies, companies and experts working on digitalization in energy, as well as all sector associations and academia from the national and international arena in the field of solar energy. Bring.

TG Expo Chairman Gönül Akyıldız, who made a speech at the introductory meeting hosted by TG Expo and GENSED for Solar Istanbul 2020, stated that the serious development Turkey has made in the field of renewable energy in the last 10 years indicates that the activities in this field should be increased. "The climate crisis we are experiencing also obliges us to focus more on renewable sources such as solar and wind and domestic technology production in order to produce energy from these sources, in fact, this process should not be a choice, but a task," Akyıldız said, adding that as a company that has signed 8 different international energy events in different regions of the world, it is of particular importance for them to organize the first energy fairs in Turkey in the field of solar energy.

Halil Demirdağ, President of the Solar Energy Industrialists' and Industry Association GENSED, who gave information about the mission of organizing the fair, stated that the capacity of the sector was only 40 MW in 2014 and exceeded 5,600 MW as of today, and emphasized that they wanted to bring the whole sector together to realize this growth more effectively. Demirdağ pointed out that Turkey can produce solar panels with a very high locality rate in the factories it has established with its own resources today, and continued: The sector does not only use these panels in Turkey, but also creates a serious economic mobility by exporting them to many countries of the world. The solar power plants established by our engineers and technical staff who have been trained in our country and have gained experience in our country are today illuminating different geographies of the world as well as Turkey with environmentalist and clean energy. For example, Turkish construction companies are very strong in Africa. We call on them to 'Come, let's grow the sun together in the African market'. Considering such local and global developments, as GENSED, we decided to organize this fair together with TG Expo in order to contribute to the development and growth of the solar energy sector much faster. However, this is not an issue that can only be attributed to a sector association, so we invited all other associations working for the development of the sector in the field of solar energy to the ownership of the exhibition. We attach great importance to this fair and conference in this sense."
$18 billion to be spent over 30 years could remain in the country's coffers
Halil Demirdağ also said, "Solar energy is really the cheapest and it is a completely domestic energy source. Considering that the life of solar power plants is 30 years, we will keep 18 billion dollars that can be spent on imported fuels in 30 years in the coffers of our country with the installed power of 5,600 MW at the moment."
"The sun actually rises from the west, coming towards the east"
Tolga Özdemir, CEO of Konar Energy and Vice President of GENSED, the Association of Solar Energy Industrialists and Industries, said, "The sun actually came from the west, it comes to the east. We want to introduce more people to the new technologies born from this energy source. Today we call it solar energy, tomorrow we will discover much better technologies in battery technologies.Microgrids will evolve. The purpose of this fair, which we decided to organize with TG Expo, is actually to announce the latest technologies in this ecosystem, to transfer the potential of our country to abroad and to transfer the experiences abroad to our country. In particular, the content of the conference program will consist of topics that will be prepared with professional infrastructure and discussion techniques together with representatives from Europe and some new markets. In this sense, when visitors and exhibitors experience the fair one-on-one, they will have the opportunity to better understand its impact and the ultimate goal of the fair."
GÜYAD Board Member Erinç Kısa, who made a short speech at the meeting and conveyed the importance of supporting the Solar Istanbul Fair, which is a very big initiative in terms of solar, pointed out that the capacity of the facilities producing in the field of solar energy has reached approximately 5,600 MW in the last 5 years and emphasized that it is absolutely necessary to benefit from domestic and cost-free resources such as solar, wind and geothermal. "For this reason, we, as GÜYAD, believe that YEKDEM, which is a mechanism that has proven itself, should continue," Erinç Kısa said, underlining that the investments of investors who cannot enter the enterprise until the end of December 31, 2020 should be given a special extension of time in order to ensure that their investments do not remain idle and create employment.
