Thousands of engineers met at the 4-day "Digitalization" themed congress.

Organized by the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO) Izmir Branch with the main theme of "Future Electrical Facilities and Digitalization", VI. Electrical Installation National Congress and Exhibition was held between 16-19 October 2019 at İzmir Tepekule Congress and Exhibition Center. Within the scope of the meeting attended by nearly 6 thousand engineers and technical staff registered throughout the country, 4 major symposiums and special events were held. The participants, who followed the presentations based on theoretical and practical knowledge in the congress sessions, had the chance to get to know the newly developed technologies in the field of journals.

Within the scope of the 4-day program of the Congress, X. National Lighting Symposium, V. Building Electronic Systems Symposium, IV. In addition to the Power and Energy Systems Symposium, the Symposium on Electrical Installation in Buildings, two special events titled "SMM Forum" and "Industry 4.0 and Digitalization" were organized. The Congress, which brought together thousands of engineers and technical personnel, brought together scientists, manufacturers, designers and practitioners, as well as public and private sector representatives. In addition to scientific papers, application and project presentations made by expert engineers enabled the sharing of our country's engineering know-how. The Congress, which was attended by 15 foreign speakers known for their expertise and prestige in their fields, also served as a bridge in transferring the experiences of the world to our country.
National Lighting Symposium

Within the scope of the congress, 19 papers and 5 project presentations were made within the scope of the National Lighting Symposium, which was held for the tenth time with the support of the Turkish National Committee for Lighting. In the symposium organized under the main theme of "Digitalization in Lighting and Its Effects", a panel was also held under the title of "Problems Experienced in Urban Street Lighting and Solution Suggestions".
Building Electronic Systems SymposiumIn the Building Electronic Systems Symposium, which was held for the fifth time within the scope of the congress, the reflection of digitalization on buildings, especially smart buildings, will be examined. In the symposium where a total of 27 papers were presented, international participants took part with 3 presentations.
Power and Energy Systems SymposiumAt the Power and Energy Systems Symposium, which was held for the fourth time this year, a panel titled "Legislation, Current Situation and New Technologies in Energy Storage Systems" was held. Within the scope of the symposium, 55 technical and scientific presentations, 8 of which were international, were made within the framework of the program spread over 4 days. In the symposium where the digital transformation in industrial facilities was discussed, papers on maintenance technologies in industrial facilities were also included. In the sessions where papers on the maintenance of robotic automation applications were presented, presentations were made about the maintenance activities carried out in facilities such as power plants and refineries. In the symposium, where the issues of demand management in smart grids, cyber security, and the effects of distributed production units on the network came to the forefront, the effects of increasingly widespread electric vehicles and charging stations on the network were also examined. In addition to rooftop solar power plant investments, the status of idle natural gas power plants was also discussed at the symposium.
**Symposium on Electrical Installation in Buildings
**In the Symposium on Electrical Installation in Buildings, which was held for the first time within the scope of the congress, a panel titled "Electrical Internal Facilities Regulation and Amendment Studies" was held in addition to 17 paper presentations. Representatives of the implementing institutions also took part in the panel, which was attended by all parties to the issue related to the regulation, which EMO has been attempting for many years to update in accordance with international standards. At the symposium, where presentations on the precautions to be taken in explosive atmospheres (ATEX) came to the forefront, information was provided on the training of personnel working in facilities containing explosive atmospheres as well as the equipment and protective systems to be used.
**SMM Forum
**In the forum organized for EMO members who carry out Independent Consultant Engineering (SMM) Services within the scope of the Congress, the differences in applications in electricity distribution regions throughout the country were evaluated and solutions to the problems experienced were developed.
**Industry 4.0 and Digitalization Special Event
**Within the scope of the congress, a special event titled "Industry 4.0 and Digitalization" was held on the last day. In addition to the session where the effects of the developments within the scope of Industry 4.0 on electricity networks were examined, sessions were also held where presentations on artificial intelligence solutions, robotics and digital factory applications were made. In the special event held on the last day in accordance with the theme of the Congress held under the main theme of "Future Electrical Facilities and Digitalization", scientific and technological developments in other fields were also evaluated within the scope of "Industry 4.0 and Digitalization".
New Technologies Took Place in the Exhibition Area

In the exhibition held simultaneously with the congress, 61 national and international companies participated with new technology and services in an area of 1,700 square meters. The exhibition, which created a communication opportunity between the companies operating in the field and engineers and other professionals, included a wide range of products from power quality, automation, LV switchgear materials, generator, uninterruptible power supplies, transformers, cables, solar energy and exproof systems, lighting, automation, fire and security equipment to data center and building control systems. At the event, which brought together the world of science, engineers and sector professionals, participants were informed about new technologies for 4 days. On the other hand, in the Electrical Museum established in the exhibition area, devices that have historical nature and can be considered as milestones were exhibited and informative presentations were made.
