Turkey's R&D and Innovation Summit is at Lütfi Kırdar!


The R&D and Innovation Summit & Exhibition, which will be organized by the Architects and Engineers Group (MMG) for the 4th time this year, will be held on October 23 – 24 at the Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez will be among the opening speakers and the participants will discuss the topics that will strengthen Turkey's national technology move in the event that will be realized with the theme of "To Global Markets with Domestic Mind". Osman Balta, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MMG, who made evaluations about the summit in which Turkcell and TCDD are the main supporters, said: "As MMG, we find this summit, which we have signed for the fourth time this year, very important in bringing together all parties that play an active role in achieving our country's future goals. We welcome all people and institutions that have adopted the vision of Turkey's development to our event."

In order for Turkey to keep up with the digital transformation in the world and to open up to global markets with all its technological developments, the strategies to be followed will be discussed in all aspects 4. R&D and Innovation Summit & Exhibition will be held on October 23 – 24 at Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center. Some of the prominent panel titles and contents of the event to be organized by the Architects and Engineers Group with the theme of "To Global Markets with Domestic Mind" are as follows;
Financing Domestic Innovation: Global Investments, Domestic Entrepreneurs
Chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Dr. In the session to be held by Çetin Ali DÖNMEZ; All aspects of what needs to be done to bring more financial and angel investors from abroad to our country will be discussed. MMG within the framework of the outputs to be obtained from this panel; A working group will be formed that carries out studies on entrepreneurship in innovation and global financing of entrepreneurship and includes the realities of our country. This group is intended to collect ideas from the field and prepare research reports and national policies.
Building Entrepreneurial Universities with Local Minds
Chaired by TUBİTAK President Prof. Dr. In the session planned to be held by Hasan MANDAL, it will be emphasized how universities will keep up with the age and how the innovation ecosystem will bring competent individuals. In addition, discussions will be held on how to use the knowledge produced in universities more effectively in the innovation and enterprise ecosystem.
The Importance of Logistics from Domestic Networks to Global Markets: Building the New Silk Road
PTT Deputy General Manager Gürbüz Akbulut will evaluate the concept of logistics changing with the internet and industry 4.0 and the potential opportunities that this new concept brings to our country with the panelists. The panel will also explain MMG's "Redefining Logistics and the Economics of Innovation".
Overcoming the Certification Barrier in Global Markets
In the event where the certification problems and solutions experienced at the point of opening national technology companies to global markets will be discussed, the session titled "Overcoming the Certification Barrier in Global Markets" was held by Teknopark Istanbul Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Metin Yerebakan will direct. In the panel, the work of Teknopark Istanbul will also be evaluated and the role of technoparks within the scope of accreditation, certification and conformity audit in the technological field in our country will be discussed. Within the scope of making this role more effective, discussions will be held on the emerging needs in the sector and how to meet these needs. The session, where MMG's declaration titled "Self-Efficacy in Certification" will also be evaluated, is intended to be a guide for national technology companies.
Building a Global Brand with a Domestic Mind: THY
THY Chairman Mehmet İlker AYCI will share THY's global market journey with panelists in the session titled "Building a Global Brand with a Domestic Mind: THY", where he will take part as the main speaker, and give information about the issues to be considered when drawing a global road map for Turkish brands who want to expand abroad. The panel is intended to serve as a guide for MMG's upcoming "Working Group on Global Brands in R&D and Innovation". With this working group, MMG aims to work on the globalization of innovative brands in our country and to produce policies.

MMG Chairman Osman Balta, who made important statements about the summit, said: "As a country, we are at a level that can compete with the world in every field, and we need a detailed road map to show this. At this summit, we will seek answers to critical questions such as how we will open up to global markets, how we will introduce national technologies to giant companies in the world, where we will take part in the global economy. We are sure that the summit, where we will host many ministers and deputy ministers, institutions and organizations that produce technology, technoparks that host technological initiatives, and universities where entrepreneurial minds are trained, will make a great contribution to Turkey's R&D and Innovation studies."
Underlining that the world is heading towards a digital economy, Balta continues: "This digital transformation obliges us to act globally as a country. Our R&D companies, technoparks and universities should sign more global collaborations. We need to build entrepreneurial universities and have a say in the global economy. This summit will be an event where we discuss how to meet all these requirements with a strategy. I invite all individuals and institutions that have adopted a vision for Turkey's development to participate in this organization."
