Luc Remont, Vice President of Schneider Electric: Turkey has never let us down

LucRemont, Vice President of Schneider Electric, a worldwide expert in energy management and automation, stated that digitalization in energy management and automation is increasing within the scope of his visit to Turkey and that integration can be achieved in many areas.

"Turkey has a great appetite"
Schneider Electric World Vice President Luc Remont, stating that there is a great competition in the world and that the fastest one will make the most progress and grab the biggest place, said, "Turkey's competence is very strong, compared to emerging markets, it is a very strong country. Because it has an industrial network. This industrial network includes machine technology. When we look at it as an economic network, it is strong and able to compete head-to-head. I think it is also at the top in terms of digitalization. The investments made in this regard also show this. Turkey has a great appetite," he said.
Emphasizing that they have never been disappointed by Turkey's power since the day we existed in Turkey, Remont said, "Turkey has demonstrated its competence, especially in standing against the strong conditions of the market. Not only in our sector, but also in all sectors, Turkey is in a position to compete head to head. High motivation is very important. We were convinced of that last year," he said.
Schneider Electric Turkey and Central Asia Regional President Bora Tuncer, who stated that they produce global products in 2 facilities located in Turkey, said that they trained people at world standards in terms of Human Resources and transferred them to other countries and that they realized the highest number of student participation compared to the summits they held in the world at the Innovation Summit they held as a company last year and said that all these indicators revealed Turkey's appetite.
Remont: "We are working for a more livable world"
Luc Remont, who stated that their responsibility as Schneider Electric is to solve the challenges of energy management, stated that effective cities are needed to develop an effective infrastructure. Emphasizing that access to energy is everyone's right, Remont said, "While we want to offer energy to everyone, we are faced with the problem of global warming. Technology needs to bring solutions in this sense. That's why at Schneider Electric, we're working towards a more livable world."
Stating that Mersin City Hospital is a project made entirely with Schneider Electric solutions since the design stage and thus provides significant energy savings, Bora Tuncer said that they provide energy efficiency with the solutions they have developed in Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone and various mining facilities. Tuncer stated that they are working to move to the preventive maintenance phase at Mersin City Hospital and that they offer building management systems, energy distribution, monitoring and control solutions in 6 city hospitals completed by them. Tuncer said, "With energy efficiency, we also benefit an energy importer country like Turkey in terms of macroeconomic aspects."
"For smart cities, the decision should be the center and intention"
Luc Remont, Vice President of Schneider Electric World, who also conveyed his views on smart cities, stated that the smart city concept, which he defined as effectively digitally managed cities, is easier to apply the infrastructure to newly established cities than to old cities. Emphasizing that Schneider Electric is responsible for energy management and automation in the field of smart cities, Remont said that the smart cities in the world are small cities and that there should be a decision center and intention at the point of transformation of big cities.
Stating that some of the services in Istanbul are currently digitalized, Bora Tuncer said, "It does not seem possible for a big city like Istanbul to digitalize at once. However, by going digital piecemeal rather than just one time, it can eventually be managed from a single center. " he said.
"Our software offers local software developers the opportunity to expand abroad."
Remont, who stated that the software in the energy management and automation solutions they offer has artificial intelligence in them, stated that they use them in a way that will benefit the infrastructure of their customers. Emphasizing that they are working with UK-based Aveva on industrial software, Luc Remont said, "We can develop sector-specific software. Within these, artificial intelligence technologies that can make decisions on their own are used."
Stating that the software they developed with Aveva is used in many sectors from petrochemicals to iron and steel, Remont stated that they can also develop domestic solutions for some special needs and make domestic software partnerships. Remont said they have an "early attempt" in this regard. "We hope that we will have the opportunity to work with software developers in Turkey."
Emphasizing that Schneider Electric's software is open source, Bora Tuncer said, "Many of our partners in Turkey can integrate their own software with our software. The integration of our software and products with other software offers software developers in Turkey the opportunity to expand abroad."
Remont: "Continuity is important for us. We trust Turkey."
Stating that energy production methods have started to change in the world and that Schneider Electric has developed innovations in this direction, Bora Tuncer emphasized that consumers can now produce their own energy and this brings the transformation of energy management and said, "Wherever the direction of Turkey is, we produce solutions in those areas."
Tuncer stated that they have recently carried out intensive work in the mining and tourism sectors, and that the work they have carried out in the defense industry is gradually increasing, and that they foresee that Turkey will accelerate again in renewable solar energy.
Emphasizing that they have been operating in Turkey for many years and that some sectors have accelerated and some slowed down from time to time, Luc Remont said, "Stability or instability can be experienced in many parts of the world. But continuity is important for us. In this sense, as Schneider Electric, we trust Turkey."
